At Novaseal we pride ourselves in listening to our customers and developing products that are market driven which means our products are designed with your application/use in mind. Our customers
have acknowledged that we build some of the best heat sealing machinery available, and continue to challenge us in making improvements. One request came in 2010 when we were asked to design and build a portable heat sealer that can be used to close the ends of hem pockets. There was a need for a product that was easy to use, not clumsy or awkward, uses little energy and can produce a 1/4-inch by 2-inch seal on all shade materials.
Designing products to meet customer needs requires an indepth knowledge of what is currently available, limitations associated with current products, and what would constitute a perfect solution. Current options included use of an RF heat sealer attachment, however that meant first owning an RF heat sealer, and in today’s market RF heat sealers are no longer a preferred choice so buying one just to close hem ends didn’t make sense.

Other options included Asco’s End Closer and the Chinese copy of an Asco end closer. Asco’s End Closer is awkward to use and is expensive. Undoubtedly the Chinese copy costs less, but it is Chinese quality so it probably doesn’t work anywhere near as well as the Asco End Closer. Both operate at 220 VAC, which in my opinion is high for a hand-held device. And neither can easily work on all shade materials.
So our challenge was clear, design a heat sealer that is portable, lightweight, operates at low power at 110/120 VAC, easy to use, seals all shade materials and costs less than $5,000.
It took us several versions and several very patient customers, however within several months we introduced a customer driven EndSealer.
We currently have two models. One with an automatic shut-off timer for light use, and another with a robust temperature controller for heavy use. It’s portable, lightweight, low energy, very easy to use, seals all shade materials faster than competitive products and now costs less than $3,000! And it’s made in the USA.
Since its introduction in early 2010, we’ve sold quite a few EndSealers. Virtually everyone who has bought one of our ShadeSealers has also purchased an EndSealer, however many customers only purchased the EndSealer to replace existing equipment or for new applications. Some window shade professionals purchase two, one for each side, although one is all you need, especially since the EndSealer is portable. Click here for testimonials.
