Engineered Around Your Application
Start with what you need to seal or manufacture. Novaseal® engineers the press, tooling, heating, controls and automation around the application.
Custom Heat Sealing Systems are developed for products, seal geometries and manufacturing operations that do not fit a standard machine. The application determines the equipment.
Application First
There is no single Custom Heat Sealing System that fits every product or production requirement.
Novaseal starts with the product, material and sealing requirement, then develops the machine around the job. Our engineering team brings nearly 50 years of experience in custom heat sealing, tooling, automation and specialized machinery.
Custom Dies & Sealing Tooling
Novaseal designs and manufactures sealing dies around the required product geometry, seal width and manufacturing operation. A system may use one die or several interchangeable dies.
Tooling can also incorporate release arrangements and application-specific coatings.
Application-Specific Capabilities
Features are incorporated where they improve sealing consistency, production flow, output, handling or changeover. The machine includes what the application benefits from.
For multiple-up and automated applications, production can be evaluated by parts per cycle, finished output, equipment utilization and cost per finished part—not cycle time alone.
Application Breadth
Custom Heat Sealing Systems are not limited to packaging. In many applications, the sealing operation manufactures the finished product, component or subassembly.
Application Proof
This application demonstrates how custom tooling and direct-contact heat sealing can perform several operations required to manufacture an actual thermoplastic product, including a knurled patterned seal.
It is one example of the custom-system approach; other systems are configured around their own product and production requirements.
Custom tooling and direct-contact heat sealing used for multiple operations in product manufacture.
Custom Heat Sealing Experience
Novaseal® has engineered and manufactured Custom Heat Sealing Systems for companies with widely different products and production requirements.
Machine Configuration
Structure, orientation, heating, actuation and electrical service are selected independently according to the application.
Machine structure is selected around tooling size, work access and production flow.
The sealing operation can be oriented to suit product geometry, handling and production flow.
Heat is applied from the surface or surfaces best suited to the sealing requirement.
Actuation is selected according to force, sequence, production rate and application requirements.
Systems are typically 220–240 VAC, with 120 VAC or 480 VAC and single- or three-phase configurations available.
Equipment can be configured for industrial or cleanroom environments, with custom finish colors where desired.
Material Capability
Custom Heat Sealing Systems can be engineered for a broad range of thermoplastics, films, coated materials and industrial textiles.
Process Integration
Custom Heat Sealing Systems can operate independently or alongside Packet Welding™, wedge welding or another appropriate joining process.
Simultaneous thermoplastic seam welding across a broad range of materials and seam lengths.
