Integrated Wedge Welding Systems

Application-specific, non-handheld equipment that combines wedge welding with guidance, controls and material handling engineered around the work.

Application-Specific Wedge-Welding Engineering

The Welding Process Becomes Part of the System

When handheld operation is not the best fit, Novaseal® can incorporate wedge welding into equipment developed around the material, seam and production or installation workflow.

The result is not one standardized machine. It is an integrated system whose configuration reflects what must be welded and how the work must move.

What “Integrated” Means

An Integrated Wedge Welding System combines the welding process with application-specific support, guidance, tooling, controls or material handling. The equipment is designed as a complete working system rather than treated as a standalone portable welder.

Designed Around the Requirement

Capabilities That Can Be Incorporated

The final combination depends on the material, seam geometry, production objective, operating environment and required level of operator interaction.

Material Handling

Support, movement and alignment configured around the material format and workflow.

Welding Geometry

Wedge, pressure and support arrangements selected for the material and seam.

Guidance and Tracking

Mechanical or laser guidance for continuous welding where alignment is important.

Controls and Tooling

Application-specific features developed around the required process and operator workflow.

Illustrative Examples

What an Integrated System May Include

Depending on the application, an Integrated Wedge Welding System may incorporate one or more of the following features. These are representative examples only; no single system necessarily includes all of them. The final configuration is determined by the material, seam and operating requirements.

Example: Factory Material Handling

Dedicated support, movement and alignment developed around a particular production flow.

Example: Field Travel and Guidance

A field-oriented configuration developed to travel along the material during installation.

Example: Split-Wedge Seams

Dual welds with a testable air channel where the application requires pressure verification.

Example: Specialized Intersections

Pressure and support geometry developed for layered seams, T-joints or other specialized details.

One Field-System Example

GT-200 for Nonwoven Geotextiles

The GT-200 demonstrates how wedge welding can be incorporated into equipment engineered for a specific field application. This wheel-mounted unit was developed for welding compatible nonwoven geotextiles and uses BPR—Base Pressure Roller—geometry suited to that material and operating environment.

The GT-200 is one example of the broader integrated-system approach. It does not define the configuration or material range of other integrated systems.
